Best gym motivation ever? When members of NYC's #Fitfam come to see us! Last week, Dagmara from Rumble came in for a whitening and gave us the lowdown on her fitness routine!
Tell us a bit about you and what you do?
I am a personal trainer and an instructor at Rumble Boxing. I've been an athlete my whole life. I was a competitive gymnast in the USA Gymnastics Women's Program and later a track and field all-star specializing in the 100m high hurdles, long jump, triple jump, and high jump.
What is your home teeth cleaning routine like?
I brush 2x per day for 2 minutes each time with my electric toothbrush and waterpik a few nights per week.
What did you have done at Floss Bar?
I got my teeth professionally whitened for the first time.
How often do you go to the dentist?
I try to go to the dentist every year but I have on occasion been guilty of stretching that out past a year.
What are your best wellness tips for busy people?
1. Schedule your workouts in advance, put them into your calendar and treat them the same way you would a work meeting. If they’re in your calendar, it’s easier to build your days, dinners, and more around them.
2. Drink plenty of water. Most people do not hydrate enough throughout the day which inevitably makes you feel more fatigued and has you reaching for probably one too many cups of coffee.
3. Meal prep on weekends. You don’t have to prep every meal of the day but start with something simple - prep your breakfasts for the day so you can always start your day strong. My go to for this are egg muffins - they’re crazy simple to make and you can eat them hot or cold.
Where do you go to get healthy food in NYC?
Since I typically have to eat between training my private clients and teaching classes at Rumble Boxing, I pretty much always stick with Eat Clean Bro (ordered meal prep). Places I go to in the city though include: Hu Kitchen, Sweet Green, and Dr. Smood.
Lastly, how do you stay so insanely fit? What is your exercise routine?
Being a trainer in NYC, there are so many places and workouts to choose from. I workout/train at Rumble Boxing, Equinox, and Gleasons Boxing Gym. I do a mix of HIIT and strength training in addition to boxing about 4-5 days/week. I’m a huge fan of lifting heavy because I love how strong it makes you feel and I love boxing not only for the fact that it is the best possible stress reliever but it works your entire body and leaves you feeling completely empowered.
